Down: A Fable and Red Eye Theater’s Works-in-Progress showcase this past weekend was a success, selling out at least three of the four nights. Thank you to all who were able to attend. Rumor has it that there is a video of the performances, and it will be made available for viewing here as soon as possible. In the meantime, click here check out the photos of the workshop taken by Dwayne Williams over the past few months, and stills of the actual performance should be up shortly. Some of the audio work done for Down will be released (along with other work done for the theater) in a collection called Panic Movements, and will be available at Bandcamp in about a week or so.
Up next: a return to St. Jude with Geoff and Dan, and developing a new project with POP INC taskmaster Brooke Aldridge.

We’re back in the saddle with studio production, having wrapped up recording for “Wasted Heartbeats” and “FIU” last night. Demo mixes of these are available to check out at the Bandcamp website. At the MySpace page, we’ve also uploaded another St. Jude track, “STFU”, remixed by Bill Bates of Heliosphere, as well as “The Survivalists I-IV”, a piece composed for Kevin Kautzman’s play, The Survivalists.

Thanks to everyone that made it to the TCEP V release show. Aside from a minor technical snafu, the set went very well. Photos from the evening will be available shortly.
Currently, scheduling for studio work on St. Jude is on hold for a week or so, but things should be back on track soon for a 2010 release. In the meantime, Shawn has been involved in the Red Eye Theater’s Works In Progress series, composing music and live sound effects for a play by YOTB collaborator Kevin Kautzman entitled Down: A Fable. Only the first scene will be presented, and will have a four-day run June 3-6.

The Eighth is performing a three-song set at the release show for Twin Cities ElectroPunk V on November 21 at Club Underground. This performance will be done in a merged line-up with long-time collaborators Geoff Makousky (guitar) and Daniel “Boot” Bateman (ambience) and their band OBCT. David Erickson, Aeryn Emrys, and Mike Johnson perform on bass, keys and drums, respectively. Two new tracks from the upcoming album, The Plight of Saint Jude will be debuted, as well as Bruise (from TITAN, and featured on TCEP IV). Scheduled stage time is around 10 PM. Free copies of the TCEP V compilation CD will be available at the show, and if shipment arrives in time, copies of TITAN and The Year of the Buffalo Volumes I-IV will be available for purchase.
